I must say that it has been a while... I am far too busy these days! There were many great shows this last Saturday and I was able to sneak away for a couple. James Hurley and friends played at Hallenbeck's where all of the songs on his upcoming CD were performed. It was a real treat. Then, off to Cafe Bellisimo for a star-studded event with Dale LaDuke and Dana's celebration gig. Many great performers shared the stage and everyone enjoyed their time there.
Animal night comes next weekend with another great line-up. I hope you can stop by or tune in.
Meanwhile, many dogs are coming and going through our house and the activity never ceases.
Many of you know that I like getting around on two wheels; that changed since I broke down a few months back. With repairs and improvements, I hope to finally get back on the road this week. It has been way too long and I'm going into two-wheel withdrawal. That's it for now, I have deadline for work that's calling my name...

Well, it is 8 AM and way too early for blogging -especially after a great Animal Night show at Kulak's. In a short while, I will need to get music gear ready for the Adopt-a-thon event at the Camarillo Animal Shelter (I have an 'old school' monster PA that needs to be lugged-in and set up). I really look forward to hearing my friends play music in an outdoor setting with plenty of 'back-hound' vocals...
Last weekend I started laying some tracks at my brothers studio in Ojai. His name is James Antunez and I'm lucky he has so much music stuff and talent to help get me going. There is a really interesting story behind my brother and me that I will share down the road. I know that I'm way overdue for a CD and I'm really glad a project is finally underway. Lisa Nemzo has also expressed interest in helping me as well. I am very grateful for all of the talent supporting my new adventure.
On the animal rescue front, my wife Heidi and me have had a lot of success with placements lately. Many of our rescued poodles and poodle mixes now have great homes. Last week, we took in 5, but placed 3 others fairly quickly. Heidi devotes nearly all of her spare time to taking in homeless dogs and qualifying new homes for them; not to mention the exhaustive grooming and care she does in the meantime. She gets a lot of assistance from Dee Jones, a volunteer who has devoted much of her time helping us out. Needless to say, I easily find my part in the effort because there is always something to do...
Time for coffee!!! Please write and let me know what you think of the website make-over. I'm going to add music to the site very soon.
Warmth,
Joe
